author David Fantle. Through captivating stories, rare photos, and classic film clips, David will bring
to life the iconic legacies of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Discover the remarkable tale of how a
teenager from Minnesota began interviewing Hollywood legends 45 years ago, sparking a lifelong
passion for cinema history.
With 45 years of experience interviewing and writing about Hollywood stars, David is the co-author
of three celebrated books: Reel to Real (2004), Hollywood Heyday (2018), and C’mon, Get Happy:
The Making of Summer Stock (2023). Based in Milwaukee, WI, he also shares his expertise as an
adjunct professor of film at Marquette University.
